Legislative Alert: Stop SB 512 and HB 3827!

There are two bills in Springfield that would, if passed, alter your pension severely. Your pension is your security in the future. Let’s fight these bills together!

UPDATED NOV 14:
2nd Week of Veto Session adjourned Thursday November 10, 2011.  Please note that the House will reconvene November 29, 2012 to consider pending legislation.
The bill came out of the House Personnel and Pensions committee with a 5-4 vote.  However, the bill was NOT called for a vote on the House floor.  “Pension reform” is NOT dead.  Please keep up the pressure on your lawmakers and tell them to vote NO on SB512. CLICK HERE!

Key Facts:

SB512 “Pension Reform” would create three pension tiers. This would weaken the pension by enabling some to opt out of the Chicago Teachers Pension Fund (CTPF). Those who are moved to a self-managed plan would see their retirement affected by market fluctuations.

Take Action:

Write, call and visit your State Representative and State Senator.
Tell them to vote NO on SB 512.
