This is the CTU’s Brown Bag Lecture by Dr. Sonia Nieto, who has been interviewing “thriving teachers” around the country who “find joy in teaching students of diverse backgrounds” (this is the subtitle of the book she’s working on). She spoke to CTU staff on some of her findings at the CTU offices on February 9, 2012. Dr. Nieto is Professor Emerita of Language, Literacy, and Culture, School of Education, University of Massachusetts, Amherst. In her lecture, she cites works by Lisa Delpit, Mary Cowhey and Paul Gorski.
