Faceoff with teachers union awaits Emanuel
At a packed Board of Education meeting Wednesday, the union's Jesse Sharkey put aside the heated campaign rhetoric and instead spoke about the importance of finding common ground.
"We're going to have to develop and build up a relationship with the new mayor," Sharkey said. "We'd like to do that in a way that isn't adversarial. We'd like to make sure parents, members of the community and teachers all have their voices heard."
